Temporary overnight parking ban declared for the South/Central Peninsula

A temporary overnight parking ban has been declared for the South/Central Peninsula effective 11 p.m. this evening, Friday, February 24 through to 7 a.m. tomorrow morning, Saturday, February 25. This means there is no on-street parking allowed anywhere in the South/Central Peninsula area.

Any vehicles remaining on-street after 11 p.m. when a parking ban has been declared WILL BE TICKETED AND/OR TOWED at the owner's risk and expense. Overnight parking bans are declared as per sections 5(6) and 5(7) of the City’s Traffic By-law to allow for snow removal operations.

Three Saint John Parking lots will be cleared for use by on-street parking residents beginning at 6 p.m. tonight. For a map of the parking ban lots, please visit the related documents section here.

· Peters Street

· Sydney Street (Service New Brunswick)

· Vulcan Street

Vehicles must be removed from all the above parking lots by 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and by noon on weekends and holidays. Vehicles remaining in the lots after these times may be towed at the owner's risk and expense.

The Peel Plaza Parking Garage offers a $5.00 overnight parking rate for nights when a parking ban is declared. This rate is valid only between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. the following morning. Regular parking rates will be charged before and after these hours.
