Temporary streetlight outage on Main Street overpass and surrounding area

Earlier today, an electrical conduit on the Main Street overpass near the northbound off-ramp was struck during construction. As a safety precaution, power to the damaged conduit has been shut off. Streetlights along the northbound lane of the overpass are currently out of service, and nearby sections of Station Street and Main Street may also experience outages.

Power will remain off until demolition work at the northbound off-ramp is complete, tentatively by Friday, July 4 (weather permitting).

While power is off in the area motorists and pedestrians are urged to use extra caution and obey all posted signage when travelling through the affected area after dark. Traffic flow is not expected to be impacted, but reduced lighting can affect visibility, please slow down and stay alert.

The City’s contractor will be working to restore full lighting as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation.
