Traffic advisories, road closures and other important information due to heavy rainfall

Motorists are advised to drive with caution and care, observe signage and barricades, and avoid flooded areas. Driving through flooded areas can cause serious damage to vehicles and neighbouring homes where the water flows.

Impacted roads will open once the water levels recede.

111 McAllister Drive (in front of McDonald’s): Road closed
Haymarket Square: Water on the road, please avoid the area
End of Rothesay Avenue at the train bridge: Water covering all lanes, road closed, please avoid the area
Retail Drive between Rothesay Avenue and Oakland Street: Road closed
University Avenue (Varsity Street to Sandy Point Road): All lanes closed
Rothesay Avenue from McAllister Drive to 1-Mile Interchange: Closed
Thornbrough Street (Anglin Drive and Sandy Point Road): Closed
Red Head Road at the dyke: Temporarily closed in both directions to clean up rock and debris.

What you can do to help:

Residents can help by ensuring catch basins are free from any obstructions near their homes.
Use caution and be safe around coastal areas.
Reduce driving speeds, keep headlights on, observe all posted signage and barricades and avoid driving through any areas that are covered in water.
