Traffic Advisory: Charlotte Street

- The City of Saint John is excited to announce that Charlotte Street between Union Street and King Street will reopen to traffic on Friday, August 22. The road has been closed since May to allow for crane lift operations for a new residential development.

Charlotte Street will continue to be reduce to one lane in from of 99 King Street.

The city is advising residents Charlotte Street, from Union Street to King Street, will be closed from Monday, August 25 to Thursday, August 28 to allow for crane lift operations.

Street: Charlotte Street and King Street

Specific area: Charlotte Street between Union Street and King Street. King Street between Germain Street and Charlotte Street.

Date: Monday, August 25 to Thursday, August 28

Duration: Four (4) days

Time: 24 hours a day

Direction: In both directions

Action: Closed to through traffic.  Access to properties and businesses inside the closed section will be maintained.

Description of work: A large crane will be operating in the area to support new development at 99 King Street.

Saint John Transit will continue with the current detour route and main hub at King Street East until further notice.

Road signage will be prominently displayed to guide motorists, and we encourage everyone to drive carefully, taking special care around pedestrians and workers.
