Traffic Advisory: King Street

UPDATE: The road closure for King Street on May 20-21 has been cancelled.

Effective immediately (May 20, 8:40 a.m.), Saint John Transit will resume regular routes.

The City of Saint John would like to advise the public of the following traffic interruption that will begin on Tuesday, May 20 on King Street.  This closure and detour are necessary for the development of 99 King Street.

Traffic detours will be in place for motorists, and sidewalks will remain available for pedestrians.

Businesses will remain open while the work is being completed. 

Street: King Street

Specific area: Between Charlotte Street and Germain Street

Date: May 20, 2025

Duration: Two (2) days

Time: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Direction: In both directions

Action: Closed to through traffic. Access to properties and businesses inside the closed section will be maintained.

Description of work: A concrete truck will be operating in the area to support new development at 99 King Street.

Road signage and sidewalk directional signage will be in place. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and be aware of pedestrians and workers.
