Traffic Advisory: Passport to Parks

The City of Saint John would like to advise the public of the following traffic interruption that will begin on Saturday, September 28 in Rockwood Park. This closure is necessary to allow for pedestrian and motorist safety during Passport to Parks.

Street: Lake Drive South, Fisher Lakes Drive, and Kelly Lane

Specific area: Rockwood Park

Date: September 28, 2024

Duration: One (1) day

Time: 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Direction: In both directions

Action: One-way traffic only

Description of work: Special Event

For the duration of the event, traffic will be diverted to one-way only throughout the park.  Vehicles entering the main entrance from Mount Pleasant Avenue will be required to continue through the park and exit onto Hawthorne Avenue Extension.  Similarly, vehicles exiting the Rockwood Park Campground must turn right at exit onto Hawthorne Avenue Extension

To facilitate a safe event, barricades will be in place at the following location:

  • Mount Pleasant Avenue at Lake Drive South
  • Lake Drive South at Fisher Lakes Drive

Road signage and sidewalk directional signage will be in place. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and be aware of pedestrians and workers.
