Traffic Advisory: Water Street lane and sidewalk closure

The City of Saint John would like to advise the public of the following traffic and sidewalk interruption that will take place over the next seven weeks on Water Street in order to remove and replace a section of existing sidewalk and curb.

This project is part of the ongoing waterfront development project and will see the temporary closure of the sidewalk and one lane of traffic. More details are below:

Street name: Water Street
Start date: Monday, June 12, 2023
Direction: Southbound
Location: From the bottom of Saint Patrick Street (entrance to Market Square near pedway) to 2 Water Street (opposite Budget Car rental)
Details: Traffic will be reduced to one lane; pedestrians will be required to use the east side of Water Street

Road signage and sidewalk directional signage will be in place. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and be aware of pedestrians and workers.
