UPDATE: (July 29, 2025, 11:30 a.m.): Public Health has advised the advisory is now lifted, and the lake is deemed safe for swimming.

The City of Saint John wishes to notify the public that Lily Lake has been temporarily closed for swimming due to a recent test conducted by Public Health, indicating a high sample of E. coli bacteria.  

Warning signs have been posted and lifeguard services will remain in place at Lily Lake to advise the public and ensure the safety of visitors. The swimming area will remain closed until deemed safe by health officials.

Further testing will be conducted and the City will continue to provide updates to the public as they become available.
