Update: Overdue payment charges

The City of Saint John wishes to notify customers of an important update to overdue payment charges. Following the temporary shutdown of the City’s networks in November, overdue payment charges and penalties on customer accounts were suspended until further notice. These late charges will continue to be held until February 15, 2021.  

After February 15, all unpaid overdue bill payments to the City of Saint John will be subject to overdue payment charges accordingly and as detailed on your bill. 

The City has safely and successfully restored payment options for customers. The below payment options are available: 

Saint John Water payments can be made through the customer’s bank, through pre-authorized payments, via telephone (506-658-4455) or in-person by cheque, cash, debit or credit at the Customer Service Centre on the 1st floor of City Hall. Customers must present their bill when paying in person.

Parking ticket payments can be paid via telephone (506-658-4455) or in-person by cheque, cash, debit or credit at the Customer Service Centre on the 1st floor of City Hall. Customers must present their ticket when paying in person.

On-street parking payments can be made at the parking metre machines or through the HotSpot parking application. This application is hosted by a third-party vendor.

Monthly parking payments can be made through the HotSpot parking application. This application is hosted by a third-party vendor. If you are unable to pay through the Hotspot app then payment can be made by cheque, cash, debit or credit in-person at the Customer Service Centre on the 1st floor of City Hall.

One-Stop Development Shop development permits and payments can be paid in-person by cheque, cash, debit or credit at the One-Stop Development Shop front counter on the 1st floor of City Hall. All inquiries to the One-Stop Development Shop can be addressed through the Customer Service Centre by calling (506) 658-4455.
