Parking bans help crews safely remove snow and keep streets clear and safe during the winter months.
When are parking bans declared?
- Parking bans can happen any time during winter when snow or ice needs to be removed from city streets.
How to Prepare for Parking Bans:
Residents are responsible for securing off‑street parking and staying informed about when parking bans are declared.
- North, East, and West neighbourhoods: If you rely on on‑street parking, you must arrange alternate off‑street parking during a ban.
Once a ban is announced, you cannot park on the street during these times:
- North, East & West (NEW): no on-street parking from 12:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Please avoid parking before 7:00 a.m., even if your street has been plowed; as they may require access to that street again.
How you'll know a ban is in place:
You'll be notified by 3:45 p.m. on the day of the ban, through:
- Recorded Info phone Line: Dial 506-658-4040 , press 2 for N.E.W. update

If vehicles are left on the street during the parking bans:
Any vehicles remaining on-street after 12 a.m. and before 7 a.m. when a parking ban has been declared WILL BE TICKETED AND/OR TOWED at the owner's risk and expense. Parking ban tickets start at $60.00.
Vehicles are towed by Loyalist City Towing:
