City of Saint John Announces 2026 Memorial Bench Program, Including New Locations

The City of Saint John is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 Memorial Bench Program, opening for applications on January 15, 2026. The program offers residents a meaningful way to honour the life, memory, and contributions of loved ones. Since 2003, more than fifty memorial benches have been installed across the city’s parks, providing places of rest, reflection, and remembrance.

 What’s New for 2026:

• New bench locations at Dominion Park Beach
• New bench locations at Little River Reservoir
• Continued availability throughout Rockwood Park

These new sites offer more opportunities to create lasting tributes in some of Saint John’s most cherished natural spaces.

A limited number of benches are available each year. Applications will be accepted until February 16, unless all available sites are filled before that date. All submissions will be processed on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and no wait list will be carried over to future years.

Residents are encouraged to review the Program Guidelines and download the Application Form to their device before completing it. Completed forms must be submitted by email. Applicants should not submit payment until they receive confirmation of approval from Community Services staff.
