Temporary Swimming Closures in Effect at Three Saint John Beaches

The City of Saint John is advising residents that Tucker Park Beach, Fisher Lake (Rockwood Park), and Dominion Park Beach are temporarily closed for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels identified through recent water testing conducted by Public Health.

Swimming is not permitted at these locations until further notice.

Warning signs have been posted at all affected beaches, and lifeguards will be on site during regular operating hours to advise the public and help ensure visitor safety.

These closures apply only to swimming activities at the affected beaches. No other City beaches or swimming areas are impacted at this time.

While swimming is not permitted, residents and visitors can continue to enjoy these areas for a variety of other recreational activities. Walking or running along the shoreline, hiking nearby trails, picnicking, and relaxing on the beach remain safe and encouraged. Visitors are asked to avoid entering the water while the swimming advisories remain in effect.

Testing will continue at all affected locations, and the City will provide updates as additional information becomes available and Public Health determines when conditions are safe for swimming to resume.
