Traffic calming measures installation at the intersection of Sandy Point Road and Foster Thurston Drive

The City of Saint John, in partnership with the Ethos Ridge Development Team, are in the process of installing traffic calming measures at the intersection of Sandy Point Road and Foster Thurston Drive. Rumble strips to draw motorists’ attention to the intersection are being completed today, Friday, October 15, with installation of electronic motorist speed feedback signs underway.

These traffic calming measures are intended to slow vehicle speeds. Recorded speeds of vehicles in excess of the 50 KM/H speed limit, in combination with limited sight lines on the approaches to this intersection, initiated the need for these measures.

These measures, in addition to motorists’ co-operation in respecting the posted speed limit signs, are expected to improve safety at this intersection both for current motorists and as our community continues to grow!
