Municipal support does not always have to come in the form of grants. Organizations seeking other sources of funding, such as government or corporate grants, may require a letter of support from their municipality. A letter of support signifies that the City of Saint John is, in principle, aware of and supports the organization’s objectives in its application for funding.
Letters of support may:

validate your organization’s history and track record in serving the community;

validate the required assets and infrastructure within the city to support a project or event;

validate the need for funding to fulfill a specific need within the community;

validate a collaborative working relationship with your organization;

validate in-kind support of your organization through staff resources, volunteers, permitted use of public spaces, in-kind services, or other types of support.
