Saint John Transit Transforming Transit Enhancements Effective October 2, 2023
Riders East
Saint John Transit is pleased to announce the following service enhancements for riders on the East Side beginning October 2, 2023.
Most routes will see expanded hours and frequency Monday to Friday. Routes 30 (Champlain Heights) and 31 (Forest Glen) will also see increased Saturday service.
There will also be changes to some routing. Route 32 (Loch Lomond) will use Mountain View Drive, the Silver Falls area will be serviced by Route 30 (Champlain Heights), and Route 31 (Forest Glen) will now use Westmorland Road.
NBCC will be serviced by Route 35 NBCC Express, a new route offering 20-minute direct service Monday to Friday, early morning and afternoon between Kings Square and NBCC from the first Tuesday after Labour Day until the end of June. Forty-minute service will be offered during the summer months.
FLEX service will be available for riders in the area east of McAllister Drive, west of Lakeview Drive, north of Loch Lomond Road and south of Westmorland Road.

Route 9E McAllister Place
- There will be an additional trip from UNB at 6:15 am.
Route 30 Champlain Heights
- Monday to Friday service begins from McAllister Place at 6:10 am, with half-hour service until 6:40 pm and hourly service until 9:35 pm.
- Saturday service begins from McAllister Place at 8:10 am, with hourly service until 6:35 pm
- Will service the Silver Falls area.
- Will not service Mountain Road.
Route 31 Forest Glen
- Monday to Friday service begins from McAllister Place at 6:10 am, with half-hour service until 6:40 pm, and hourly service until 10:05 pm.
- Saturday service begins from McAllister Place at 7:40 am, with hourly service until 7:05 pm.
- Sunday service remains the same.
- Stops have been added on Westmorland Road.
- Stops on McAllister Drive will be discontinued.
Route 32 Loch Lomond
- Service begins earlier and ends later with two additional runs added.
- Route 32 will use Mountain View Drive and Mountain Road.
Route 33 Champlain Lakewood (formerly know as Champlain Express)
- Hourly service from Kings Square from 6:50 am until 8.50 am and 3:50 pm until 5:50 pm.
Route 35 NBCC Express NEW
- 20-minute direct service Monday to Friday, early morning and afternoon between Kings Square and NBCC from the first Tuesday after Labour Day until the end of June.
- 40-minute service Monday to Friday from July until the Friday before Labour Day.
FLEX East service
Available weekdays between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm and Saturdays between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm in the area east of McAllister Drive, west of Lakeview Drive, north of Loch Lomond Road and south of Westmorland Road. Download the STJFlex app or call 506 652-3539 (FLEX) for service.
About Transforming Transit
Riders began to see the results of the Transforming Transit project in October 2022.
Riders have seen frequency increases on rapid lines, extended service hours on other routes and the introduction of FLEX service in demand service. FLEX routes and shorter routes in the city are being serviced by six, 20-foot leased electric Karsan eJest buses.
