Gary Sullivan

Councillor

Councillor Gary Sullivan was first elected in 2008 in Ward 2, and in 2016 and 2021 he was elected as Councilor at Large.

Gary is a teacher at Saint John High School. He has served as Past President of ONE Change, the St. Patrick’s Society of Saint John, the New Brunswick Sailing Association, and Saint John Youth Minor Hockey. He has also served on the Regional Facilities Commission, Leisure Services Advisory Committee, Finance Committee, the Trade and Convention Centre Oversight Committee, Harbour Station Commission, Police Commission and the Planning Advisory Committee.

Gary is a life-long Saint Johner and lives in Millidgeville with his wife Colleen (also a teacher) and two children who attend UNBSJ.

His interests are in fiscal responsibility and growing Saint John while maintaining the quality of life for current residents.  It is Gary’s belief that the actions of council should be targeted to retaining our current residents while recruiting new Saint Johners.
