Mariah Darling was elected Ward 3 Councillor in the December 2024 by-election. A proud queer and trans young professional, Mariah (who uses all pronouns) lives in the southern peninsula and brings a collaborative, evidence-based approach to their work.
Born and raised on the west side of Saint John, Mariah graduated from Saint John High School in 2012 and earned a Bachelor of Science from UNB Saint John in 2018. With a background in medical research and experience as an Education Coordinator for a non-profit supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Mariah is deeply committed to equity and inclusion.
As Councillor, Mariah’s priorities include tackling housing affordability, enhancing public safety, and fostering a vibrant, connected Ward 3. Dedicated to representing all residents, Mariah is passionate about building a city where everyone can thrive.
