Councillor Joanna Killen was elected in May of 2021. Her pronouns are she/her and she lives in Fundy Heights in West Saint John with her partner and young son and identifies as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Joanna is the co-owner and operator of Slocum & Ferris in the Saint John City Market and has been involved in entrepreneurship since the age of 19. She previously owned a Startup Consultancy, Momentum Canada Skills Development and has worked for Enterprise Saint John (now Envision Saint John) and as Marketing Manager for Brunswick Square. She has served on a number of boards, most recently chairing the Saint John Community Arts Board and as an active member of the Community Loan Fund Board.
Joanna identifies her main areas of focus to be regionalization for growth, a strategy for a connected west side and fair taxation for all.
