Councillor Sherri Colwell-McCavour was elected in May 2026 and represents Ward 1. Originally from Ontario, she has spent most of her life in Saint John, living in several neighbourhoods before settling in the coastal community of Lorneville, where she has made her home for more than 30 years.
Sherri’s professional background includes experience in sales and supervisory roles, followed by over 20 years as a business analyst in the telecommunications industry. Since retiring, she has become a dedicated community advocate, a passion that inspired her to run for Common Council.
She is committed to finding a balance between thoughtful development and environmental stewardship to ensure the city continues to thrive while preserving its natural beauty for future generations. Sherri values open communication, active listening, and collaboration, and is focused on working with residents and fellow Council members to support strong, connected communities across West Saint John and the city as a whole.
